Mr. Sauder graduated from UBC with a commerce degree in 1948. He later sat on the Board of Governors, was appointed Chair of the Board, and elected Chancellor. He was awarded the Order of British Columbia in 2002. Mr. Sauder's donation of $20 million to UBC's Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration prompted its renaming to the Sauder School of Business.
Dr. McGeer has done everything from competing in the 1948 Olympics in basketball to founding Aurin Biotech Inc. Along the way, he served in the BC provincial government in a variety of roles. Dr. McGeer and his wife Edith have been inducted as Officers of the Order of Canada, Fellows of the Royal Canadian Society, and Order of British Columbia.
Dr. Helliwell graduated from UBC in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce as valedictorian and continued his education as a Rhode's Scholar to Oxford. He later returned to UBC and rose to head the Economics department. Dr. Helliwell has received countless awards, most recently being named a Distinguished Fellow of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR).
Greg Kerfoot is most notably the Owner and Chairman of Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club, Vancouver's professional soccer team (MLS). He was featured in Vancouver Magazine's "The 50 Most Powerful People in Vancouver Right Now".
Dr. Michael Curry is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of British Columbia. Prior to attending medical school Dr. Curry obtained a law degree from the University of British Columbia. While he is not a BC Alpha alumni, he is heavily involved.
